July 21, 2023Angela SIncredible lodge for wildlife viewing! - We will never forget the amazing time we had staying at Engiri Lodge! The cabin we stayed in was comfortable and had everything we needed. What was absolutely incredible was... read more that we were in the middle of the park, with wild animals wandering through the area several times a day! We saw elephants walking by the restaurant and on the paths outside our cabin. The main lodge has a restaurant on the second floor, which feels a bit like a treehouse, with wonderful views looking out over the park. We saw elephants from this viewpoint several times. During nighttime hours the lodge asks that guests do not leave their cabins without a staff escort because of the risk of wild animal encounters. This seemed wise because overnight I heard a hippo munching the vegetation in back of my cabin! The staff was helpful and the food was good, but what truly makes this place special is its location in the park.

We had great meals and the chef was quite excellent for the FB option we had. We opted for the Camping tents which were comfortable, neat and of great experience. Having Wireless internet was quite great however only accessible at the main building and was frequently interrupted. We had sports amenities with us and as such the camping area had great space for mini sports activities like soccer and badminton. The greatest experience was our second night when a heard of elephants visited and was feeding at our camp area, the Night guards Simon and Mike frequently engaged them for close to 3 hours as they came close to our tents. We look forward to yet another camping experience at Engiri Game Lodge & Campsite.

We spent two nights at the beginning of March and could not have been more thrilled. The staff was amazing. The food was well prepared, three meals included in... read more the price, and, as mentioned in other reviews, they had a prepared menu, but would actually ask what we wanted to eat the next day and go get it at the market and prepare it if we wanted it. We were right in the middle of the Savanah, eating looking out at the Savannah. The last day three elephants wondered by during breakfast. I heard some snorting outside the cottage one evening, looked around my porch and saw a half a dozen young wart hogs scamper away (Engiri means wart hog). The cottages were clean, with hot water provided by solar, and each evening we would be walked back to our cottage by the staff, just in case there were any animals. The front desk was super helpful booking the savannah and river safari (Engiri Game Lodge is very near Kazinga channel), both provided by local villagers, and suggested the Chimpanzee trek as we left the final day. You can book and pay for everything right there, and the safari prices are very reasonable. Wifi was excellent. More

We asked Julius and he made the fish for us instead of chicken. And the fish was delicous. Fantastic, this is really customer oriented!
Two - the location amidst the park. The second night at 3am we had Elephants right in front of our door, at 5am a hippos said hello to us, and when we left the lodge at 8am, 4 of the big elefants blocked our way. What an amazing experience.
Three - I had a problem with the battery of my car, the supervisor from the reception immediately offered help, a mechanic from the village came and fixed the problem for very little money.
Four - the rooms were clean, the staff is absolutely friendly, the game drives are 4 hours long for 20 USD, we saw no lions, but a leopard, plus hippos, elefants, hyenas....which was amazing.
Five - we toured QUENP six days, but in this lodge, the WiFi was the fastest ;-) Of course only in the main building, but we relaxed for hours in the restaurant area, from where you can enjoy a marvelous view.
So, if you plan to come to this sector of QENP, just book Engiri, because this is where you get most for your money.
